Here's the timeline, the decisions in front of you, and where Vintiga fits — including the case where it doesn't.
Classic WineDirect is being retired. You set the pace of the move.
WineDirect is not disappearing, but its ecommerce software is. In January 2025, Fullsteam — the parent company of Commerce7 — acquired WineDirect's DTC software division. The classic WineDirect platform is being retired, and wineries were given a window of up to two years to move. WineDirect Fulfillment is a separate business and continues to operate. Wineries facing that move can migrate to Commerce7, or evaluate alternatives. Vintiga is one: it runs alongside your current stack first, and replaces parts of it on your schedule.
Fullsteam, Commerce7's parent company, acquired WineDirect's direct-to-consumer software division. Around 35 WineDirect staff joined the Commerce7 team. Commerce7 announcement
Commerce7 confirmed the classic WineDirect ecommerce platform would be retired, with existing clients able to remain on it for a period of up to two years. Commerce7 migration documentation
Payments were addressed first: WineDirect clients began moving to Commerce7's payments gateway, gaining Apple Pay, Google Pay and card tokenisation in the tasting room. Commerce7 payments documentation
WineDirect Fulfillment was not part of the transaction. It continues as an independent fulfilment business and was named Commerce7's preferred fulfilment partner. WineDirect Fulfillment
What this means in practice. Two of the largest DTC platforms in the wine industry are now one company. Transom's winery scorecard has tracked Commerce7 and WineDirect as the two largest platforms by site count for several years running; combined, the two now represent a large share of the market. Wineries who chose WineDirect specifically because it wasn't Commerce7 now have a decision they didn't ask to make, on a timeline they didn't set.

The stored-card question is the one that stops most migrations, and it deserves a straight answer rather than reassurance. Card tokens do not move by CSV. Token transfer is arranged between payment processors, is handled as part of onboarding, and may carry a separate charge from the processor.
Said plainly, not softened. If a tool below is central to how you run the winery, it stays exactly where it is.
Vintiga does not pick, pack or ship. Whoever handles fulfilment for you today stays exactly where it is.
Vintiga does not file your state reports. Sovos ShipCompliant or your equivalent stays in place.
No barrel tracking, no blending, no harvest data. InnoVint, vintrace and similar tools are unaffected.
QuickBooks stays. Payroll is not on the roadmap.
“Classic clients may remain on WineDirect for a period after the transition.”

No. It is the guided path, and for many wineries the sensible one. Nothing requires it.
Commerce7 stated clients could remain on the classic platform for up to two years from the January 2025 announcement. Confirm your specific end date directly with Commerce7.
Nothing changes. It was not part of the transaction.
